Crawley Town boss Scott Lindsey says team will not be 'defeatist' against Wrexham.

Crawley Town boss Scott Lindsey said his side will not be "defeatist" when they visit League One leaders Wrexham on Saturday.

The Welsh side, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are aiming for their third consecutive promotion.

"I think a lot of clubs turn up to Wrexham already beaten," Lindsey told BBC Radio Surrey .

"Even if they don't turn up to getting beat, there'll be individuals in the team that will be thinking, 'We shouldn't be winning here anyway'.

"That's kind of natural sometimes when they look at the stadium, they look at the team they've got. Wrexham win at home a lot and a lot of teams probably turn up there and be defeatist before the ball's been kicked."

Wrexham won the National League title in the 2022-23 season before finishing second in League Two last season to earn automatic promotion to the third tier.

They top League One with 13 points but suffered their first defeat of the season at Birmingham City on Monday.

However, Lindsey said his side's attitude will be different to that of other clubs going into a matchday at the SToK Racecourse.

"No one turns up to get beat, I understand that, but subconsciously they probably do," the 52-year-old added.

"We're not going to be doing do that. I will make sure that we are all ready to get a result from this game.

"We're not going there to get a draw from the game, we're going to go and try to win it"

Crawley currently sit 13th in the table on seven points after two wins, two losses and a draw.
