Creighton volleyball claims No. 3 seed, will face Colgate in first round of NCAA tournament
Creighton volleyball earned a No. 3 seed and will host Colgate in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
Minnesota and Utah State will square off in the other first round match at Sokol Arena, with the winners meeting for a place in the Sweet 16.
The Bluejays (27-4) enter NCAA tournament play having won 15 consecutive matches and their fourth consecutive Big East tournament by sweeping St. John's on Saturday.
Kiana Schmitt was named Big East tournament MVP, with Ava Martin and Kendra Wait also claiming all-tournament team honors.
Creighton is hosting NCAA tournament matches for the third consecutive year and the fifth time overall.
This marks CU's 12th straight NCAA tournament appearance and 13th in program history. The Bluejays have advanced beyond the second round twice, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2015 and the Elite Eight in 2016.
