(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Friday, Oct. 4, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a report of a shooting victim at Vermijo Park near Highway 24 and 26th Street. Officers found one victim, a suspect turned himself in after, and a second victim was reported but not located, according to CSPD.

CSPD said Officer Gehrke arrived at the scene around 11 a.m. on Friday and found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. Gehrke applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. As other officers arrived, they learned the victim and another man had been shot by an acquaintance during a disturbance.

According to Colorado Springs police, the suspect, identified as Daniel Perry, fled the scene but later turned himself in. The second shooting victim also had run away, and officers, despite an extensive search using a drone, were unable to find him.
