CT man who crashed into home found suffering from gunshot wound to head

A man who crashed into the front of a home in New Haven on Sunday was found to have been shot in the head, leaving him in critical condition, police said.

Officers responded to the area of Goodyear Street and West Read Street just before 7 p.m. on the report that a vehicle had crashed into the front porch of a house, according to the New Haven Police Department .

Police said officers discovered that the driver, a 21-year-old West Haven man, was suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken in an ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital, where police said his condition has been described as "critical and life-threatening but stable."

According to police, detectives responded to the scene where they conducted interviews and found ballistic evidence.
