CU Trauma and Resilience Initiative helping people get connected to care
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The CU Trauma and Resilience Initiative is looking to make it easier for people to get connected to care.
TRI will be holding two community sessions on September 26th. It's all to talk about how to best utilize public programs throughout Champaign and Urbana, and to follow-up to their Spring Community Conversation.

TRI's Executive Director Karen Simms said they want to help provide resource information for everything from basic needs to mental health.
"Services and supports we offer, but we also know that there are a lot of partners in the community that offer resources too, and we're always trying to work really collaboratively so that people can have what they need, including sometimes resources that are right there at the community center that people may not be aware of or know how to access or to take advantage of. So, we always make sure that those materials are there," Simms said.
The afternoon session is meant for seniors and is at noon, whereas the evening session is geared towards families and begins at 5:30 p.m.
