Darcia Lynn Nabors, 62, died peacefully in Racine, Wisconsin, on October 2, 2024. She was born on April 16, 1962, in Rock Island, Illinois, and devoted her life to kindness, family, and service. Darcia spent over three decades working with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and was known for her generosity and compassion.

Darcia's Early Life and Career

Darcia was born to Ethel Reed and Walt Nabors in Rock Island, Illinois , on April 16, 1962. In the mid-1980s, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin , with her sister Lorraine and began her lifelong career with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Her work was a testament to her dedication to equality and justice in the workplace.

A Life of Faith and Service

Darcia accepted the Lord at a young age and was devoted to sharing her faith. She was known for her loving spirit and dedication to her family, which she prioritized above all else. Darcia's kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Cherished Family and Friends

Darcia is survived by her siblings, Ervin (Elsa) Dixon, Geneva (Ken) Washington, Edna Meadors, Stanley Dixon, Duane (Gail) Kyles, Michael (Tracey) Kyles, James "Stevie" Kyles, and Laukesha (Lowell) Holmes. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends. Special thanks go to Excel Four Adult Family Home caregivers—Vonda, Carolyn, Carla, and Drew—for their compassionate care.

Preceded in Death

Darcia was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Reed and Walt Nabors, as well as her sister, Lorraine Williams, and brother, Richard Dixon.
