Drag queen's elaborate red carpet display embarrassingly upstages 'fake socialite' at Wicked premiere

Courtney Act gave Sydney 's notorious 'sham socialite' Suzan Mutesi a run for her money at the Wicked premiere on Sunday.

The iconic Australian drag queen said she 'caused chaos' on the yellow brick carpet by twirling and lifting her magnificent green cape with free abandon.

However, the most chaos was created for the 38-year-old 'fake influencer' that Sydney loves to hate.

Known for her elaborate outfits and striking red carpet appearances, Mutesi's would-be moment was unfortunately upstaged by Courtney's glorious green cape.

'The most Wicked thing to happen last night,' Courtney captioned a photo in which her billowing cape completely obscured Mutesi from the camera's view.

'Sorry Suzan!'

Ever the good sport, Mutesi shared the same image to her own Instagram Stories on Monday.

While Mutesi's recent antics have gained more attention, Courtney may have won this round.

Mutesi attended the Wicked premiere in a busty red two-piece, which she paired with some emerald green heels.

'A MUST SEE!! Had a MAGICAL night at WICKED! The experience was truly unforgettable!' Suzan captioned a video of the film's stars and of herself posing with a 360 video camera.

The 'red carpet pest' has previously been caught using extreme photo editing to significantly alter her appearance online.

She is also accused of buying her 1.2 million Instagram followers, a claim she denies.

Last year, she faced embarrassment after purchasing a general admission ticket to the Logies and then tried to walk onto the red carpet backwards .

She insisted in various media interviews that she had been invited by famous friends, until every TV network clarified that she was not a guest.

The full-time red carpet attendee has been jokingly referred to as a 'dependable seat filler' by high-profile Sydney publicists, who begrudgingly admit: 'She always turns a look.'

Mutesi, who bills herself as an 'actor, author, model, fashion designer and writer', has starred in exactly one episode of Australian reality television.

When contacted to clarify whether or not Mutesi 'crashed' the 2023 Logies red carpet, her manager Max Markson said: 'If she did, she did an amazing job because she did better credit with her picture in media across the world than anybody else attending the Logies.'

Meanwhile, pop sensation Ariana Grande, musical theatre legend Cynthia Erivo, and Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey enchanted Australian crowds on Sunday when they stepped out for the star-studded international premiere of the musical's film adaption .

The much-anticipated event saw thousands of fans flock to Sydney's State Theatre.

Local celebrities and influencers coveted their invitations to walk the yellow brick carpet alongside, or at least in the vicinity of, some bonafide A-listers.
