Driver should expect closures at U.S. 23 interchange

MILAN, MI - There will be a series of closures at a U.S. 23 interchange in Milan this week.

Drivers should expect the closures at the Plank Road bridge interchange during a beam installation, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation .

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 26, the closures and corresponding detours are as follows:

  • Northbound US-23 will be closed intermittently at Plank Road for 15-minute intervals starting 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, until 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.
  • The northbound U.S. 23 ramp – exit 25 – to Plank Road will shut down from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. Traffic will be detoured via exit 27 at Arkona Road to Dexter Road and County Road to Plank Road.
  • Southbound U.S. 23 will close from Dexter Street to Main Street at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, until 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Traffic will be detoured via Carpenter Road, Dexter Road and County Road to Main Street.
  • The southbound U.S. 23 ramp – exit 25 – to Plank Road will shut down at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, until 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Traffic will be detoured via exit 27 at Carpenter Road and Dexter Road to Plank Road.
