Preble County men arrested following drug investigation

WEST ALEXANDRIA, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Two men have been formally charged after an investigation found drug sales occurring within 1,000 feet of a local school.

The Preble County Sheriff's Office reports two men were arrested Sept. 19 on drug-related charges. This comes after deputies began investigating complaints of trafficking in drugs in the West Alexandria area.

During the investigation, authorities identified a suspicious garage in the 100 block of West Dayton Street. Investigators contacted a male subject leaving the garage and learned that he was in possession of suspected methamphetamine.

The man told police that he had just "traded" for the drugs with a man in the garage. Deputies contacted the man in the garage and were granted consent to search the premise.

Inside the garage, investigators found approximately seven grams of suspected meth, digital scales and meth pipes. The suspect in the garage admitted to selling methamphetamine from the garage.

Deputies say the garage is located within 1000 feet of Twin Valley South Schools.

The two men were arrested and formally charged in Eaton Municipal Court.

Robert S. Johnson, 39, of West Alexandria, was charged with:

  • Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a 3rd Degree Felony.
  • Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a 4th Degree Felony
  • Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a 4th Degree Felony
  • Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a 5th Degree Felony
  • Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a 4th Degree Misdemeanor
  • Clyde W. Miller, 41, of West Alexandria, was charged with:

  • Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a 5th Degree Felony
  • Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a 4th Degree Misdemeanor
  • Both men are currently in Preble County Jail.
