Drunken Jetstar passenger is kicked off the plane by cops after 'shouting racist abuse at flight staff'

A drunken Jetstar passenger had to be dragged off a plane by police officers after he allegedly began shouting racist abuse towards flight attendants.

Flight JQ29 from Melbourne to Bangkok on September 28 was forced to make an emergency landing in Darwin after a British man on board became increasingly unruly.

Fellow passenger, Rukaiya Shabbir, said the man, who was travelling solo, appeared to be drunk from the beginning of the 10-hour journey on the packed flight.

'He just kept screaming and singing so loudly immediately after take-off,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

Ms Shabbir said air hostesses did their best to calm the man down and moved those sitting beside him to alternative seats.

'He was so drunk so then the male flight attendants started talking to him and that's when he became super racist,' she alleged.

'He was saying things like ''you Asian c***s get away from me!'' and the entire plane could hear it.'

Ms Shabbir said the man refused to sit down and kept walking around the plane.

She added he had brought alcohol on board and appeared to have been drinking straight from a bottle before it was confiscated by staff.

'He'd been doing this for a few hours and the pilot found out and made an announcement saying if the man didn't calm down, they would need to do an emergency landing,' she said.

Once the plane touched down in Darwin, officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) walked on board to detain the man.

Ms Shabbir added he'd also been resting his feet on the seats in front of him.

'He was so drunk that when we landed in Darwin, he said ''Where are we? Are we in Thailand yet?'',' she said.

'The whole plane clapped when he get off.'

Passengers on the aircraft had to wait two hours at Darwin before they were transferred onto another flight to Bangkok.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Jetstar and the AFP for comment.
