Dry & mild Sunday, rain likely through Monday morning commute
We'll have mostly cloudy skies today and spot sprinkles will be possible, especially in central and northeast Missouri but a few of our western and northern counties could see some of this. Temperatures should climb into the low to mid 60s.
Widespread rain and maybe some thunder builds in from the southwest overnight into Monday morning. This rain will impact the morning commute. Once the first round of rain lifts northeast of the region we'll see a break for much of the afternoon.
Another round of scattered showers and a few storms will move in ahead of the cold front late Monday afternoon and evening. Tuesday should be quiet. Highs both on Monday and Tuesday should remain in the 60s.
Big changes by Wednesday as our second and stronger cold front dives south bringing some of the coldest air of the season. Highs on Wednesday will max out in the 40s along with gusty winds. There's also a chance of rain on Wednesday with a few snowflakes maybe mixing in farther east and northeast of St. Louis as temperatures drop into the 30s Wednesday night.
Rain chances for Thursday remain slight as a closed low sits and spins to our northeast. Thursday will likely be the coldest of the stretch with temperatures in the mid 40s. Both Wednesday and Thursday look windy so that means temperatures will feel like the 30s.
