Eagles' Kellen Moore Says Sun Affected Play Calls as Cowboys OC amid Lamb Comments

Sam Hodde/ Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was with the Dallas Cowboys as backup quarterback (2015-2017), quarterbacks coach (2018) and offensive coordinator (2019-2022), so he has experience dealing with the infamous AT&T Stadium sun glare.

That came under fire again Sunday after Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb told reporters he lost a potential touchdown in the sun and vouched for curtains to block the glare following his team's 34-6 home loss to Philadelphia.

Moore was asked whether he and the team saw the sunlight as a potential problem for the game, and he responded as follows, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

"Yeah, in general for everyone, yeah," Moore told reporters. "For everyone. I've been there. I was there a long time, so..."

He then gave this perspective from the vantage point of his time calling plays in Dallas.

"Stadiums all have different circumstances," Moore contributed. "That one, the sun plays a decent role, so you just have to call plays according to it, knowing certain parts of the field at times can be a little bit challenging. We had it in the first quarter, towards the end of the first quarter in the red zone. And then [in the] second quarter, we were going the other way."

It doesn't appear the sun glare issue is changing any time soon. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had this to say.

"Well let's tear the damn stadium down and build another one? Are you kidding me? Everybody has got the same thing," Jones said, per The Athletic's Jon Machota . "Every team that comes in here has the same issues. I'm saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where's the moon?"

The world may know where the sun is, but it's possible no one knew better than everyone in AT&T Stadium on Sunday.

But still, Jones' stance doesn't appear to be changing. At any rate, the Cowboys have bigger problems right now, with the team 3-6 after a four-game losing streak. Quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the year with a hamstring injury, and the team has allowed the second-most points per game in the NFL.

Dallas will remain home for its next game, but the sun won't be an issue with the Cowboys hosting the Houston Texans on Monday night.
