Retains position of Policy Committee Chairman for two more years

State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, has been selected by his peers to be part of the leadership team as the House Democrats retain their majority for the 2025-26 Legislative Session. Bizzarro will continue to serve as the Policy Committee chairman, which he was first selected for in 2020.

"Pennsylvanians overwhelmingly approve of what I and my colleagues have accomplished over the last two years, and they sent 102 of us back to Harrisburg to keep fighting for working families and seniors," said Bizzarro. "We pledged to put people first with good jobs, access to affordable healthcare, and quality schools, and we delivered."

As Policy Committee Chairman, Bizzarro brought Harrisburg to the people, by bringing legislators from across PA to dozens of towns for hundreds of events. The public was able to hear from people about local issues, and what changes at the state level could be made to improve their community.

Bizzarro has served in the legislature since Jan. 1, 2013 and represents the 3rd Legislative District in Erie County. He previously served as Chief Deputy House whip, Vice Chairman of the Northwest Delegation and Vice Chairman of the Policy Committee.

"Being a leader in Harrisburg means more opportunities to deliver for Erie County, and my commitment to our communities is unchanged," said Bizzarro. "I look forward to working with Governor Shapiro and the Senate to bring back vital dollars for important community improvements."

Bizzarro continues to be a champion for Erie County, steering state money to properly fund Erie schools, workforce development, nonprofits, first responders, public works, utilities and local businesses in his district and Erie County. During the 2023-24 legislative session, Bizzarro helped secure more than $88.5 million in funding for Erie County projects.
