Election Results In Haddonfield, Haddon Twp: See The Latest Local races included the Haddonfield commissioner special election and a 6-person field for Haddon Township School Board.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Although some votes are still being counted, both Haddonfield and Haddon Township have clearer election pictures Wednesday.

In Haddonfield, David Siedell declared victory in the borough's commissioner race. Siedell is slated to fill a seat that's been vacant since Borough Commissioner Kevin Roche resigned in the spring.

The term runs until May 20.

Siedell has 4,055 votes to William Shanahan's 2,316 as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Haddonfield's Board of Commissioners is nonpartisan and runs on a different election cycle than most elections. Commissioners elections occur every four years, with the next occurring in May.

"I am truly honored and grateful to the people of Haddonfield for placing their trust in me as your next Commissioner," Siedell said in a statement. "I want to thank Bill Shanahan for a well-run and respectful campaign; his dedication to our community is clear, and I look forward to working together."

Haddonfield had an uncontested school board race. But in Haddon Township, six candidates ran for three available board of education positions.

Incumbents James Lex (4,167 votes) and David Ricci (4,130) lead the field as of Wednesday afternoon. Christopher Cook (3,794) holds third, with a significant lead over the next candidate — John Lavell (3,114).

All results remain unofficial until certified by the Camden County Clerk's Office on a later date. Election tallies are still underway for provisional votes and mail-in ballots received after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
