EP Giving Day kicks off with over $1M fundraised

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Over $1 million has been raised so far during the 9th annual El Paso Giving Day, the Paso del Norte Community Foundation announced on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The goal of the online charity is to raise at least $1.5 million for over 200 El Paso nonprofit organizations.

"El Paso Giving Day showcases El Paso's commitment to our local nonprofits," Andrea Macias, Paso del Norte Community Foundation development coordinator said. "El Paso Giving Day is an important and critical fundraising event for nonprofits in our community. El Pasoans have already donated thousands of dollars to local nonprofits through Early Giving. El Paso Giving Day is set to help more than 200 nonprofits expand their reach and critical services to our community."

Residents can donate to their favorite organizations by going to the El Paso Giving Day website and making a minimum donation of $10.

Nonprofits registered in El Paso Giving Day are invited to an after-party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Southwest University Park's WestStar Club and have a chance to win monetary prizes for attending, according to Paso del Norte Community Foundation.

According to the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, since founded in 2016, El Paso Giving Day has raised nearly $9 million from thousands of donors.
