49ers coach seen screaming NSFW words at refs multiple times

S.Martin3 hr ago

Even though the San Francisco 49ers cruised through their matchup against the New England Patriots, their head coach has had plenty to be furious about.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan was caught cursing at the NFL referees multiple times during Sunday's 30-13 win for the Niners, expressing his displeasure with multiple calls.

The first such instance occurred in the second quarter, after tight end George Kittle was called for a questionable holding penalty that took a long Jordan Mason touchdown catch off the scoreboard. The broadcast crew of Joe Davis and Greg Olson — a former NFL tight end himself — questioned the call as well, but no one was as fired up as Shanahan, dropping at least one curse word that Fox's cameras picked up.

The next incident came midway through the third quarter, when a third down pass from Brock Purdy intended for Brandon Aiyuk was incomplete — which the 49ers felt happened because Aiyuk was held going for the pass. When no call came, Shanahan once again could be seen screaming at the officials.

Shanahan wasn't foul-mouthed all afternoon, though. A third questionable call came at the end of the third quarter, when Deommodore Lenoir was called for pass interference on a play he seemed to break up on his own (even Fox rules analyst Mike Pereira said it was a bad call). This time, when Fox showed Shanahan, the head coach looked on in disbelief, but did not curse when the camera was on him.
