WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — In Watertown Sunday, a restaurant held a fundraiser supporting three families of police officers killed in the line of duty.

All of the proceeds from BBQ for the Bravest will go to the families of Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier, Bristol Lieutenant Dustin DeMonte and Sergeant Alex Hamzy.

The Sunset Grille, a restaurant in Crestbrook Park, hosted the event and donated their time and resources for free.

There was live music, a magician, fun for the family and vendors, who were glad to be part of a good cause.

"I'm here today to help support the families from this terrible tragedy that happened in Bristol a few years ago," said Nancy Vigeant from NLV Creative Glimpses. " I just think it's really important everybody come out and do what they can to help support."

Organizers also acknowledged Trooper Pelletier's police dog, K9 Roso, who was retired and lives with the Pelletier family.
