Fantasy football Week 10 waiver wire: Streamers, Quentin Johnston, Cedric Tillman and more

C.Brown34 min ago

The Week 10 fantasy football waiver wire might be the shallowest yet, but that doesn't mean there isn't help if you lost Dak Prescott , Drake London (potentially), or need some streaming options.

HEADS UP

  • Players must be under 60% rostered on Yahoo
  • Listed in order of preference — I'll regularly prioritize potential upside over immediate replacement production
  • RB backups have a secondary list based on only if the lead option got hurt
  • No FAB suggestions: It varies wildly by league tendencies and always relative (ex: if you lost your RB1 to injury and there is a clear backup, you're going to be more aggressive)
  • Streaming QB and TE are grouped together — weekly ranking can change once projections/ranks run — DST could shift a bit too
  • Emojis for brevity
  • = mentioned multiple times, multiple weeks — either you want him, or don't
  • = Next Man Up but with deeper startability
  • WORRY REPORT (Scale 1-5: more ducks = more worry)

  • Jaguars RBs — — Not quite a full committee, but close enough, and as has been the concern, Tank Bigsby is the "lead" when close or leading... which, we don't expect much of for the Jaguars. Travis Etienne Jr. is back to being the top option, but even that is merely RB3 value unless the Jaguars let him take 55-60% or more of the work.
  • Colts WRs — — Joe Flacco showed the issues with trusting Flacco. There will be better days, and Josh Downs is still a Top 25 option in favorable matchups, with Michael Pittman Jr. as a WR3, but the Colts have the Bills and Jets the next two weeks.
  • POWER UP PLAYERS (Scale 1-5: more Mario mushrooms = more excitement)

  • Rico Dowdle , RB, DAL — — If Dak Prescott wasn't missing time and we could trust Mike McCarthy to stick with bellcow Dowdle, we'd be talking 4-5 power-ups. As it stands, we can only give Dowdle two, but that's enough to put Dowdle in the RB2/3 convo.
  • Chase Brown , RB, CIN — — Yes! The breakout is officially here. Brown had to battle through Zack Moss being the lead, then still the passing game lead, but now, Brown has nearly all of the work. Moss is out indefinitely, and while the Bengals have a decently tough schedule, the workload and explosiveness will keep Brown in the Top 20 mix with weekly RB1 upside. The only reasons Brown doesn't get the punch power-up are the schedule and the possibility that Moss could return in a few weeks.
  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba , WR, SEA — — How can I only give him two? Well, JSN is similar to Dowdle in trusting that the Seahawks woke up. Smith-Njigba had a 7.6 aDOT through the first eight weeks, and it jumped to 17.5 against the Rams . Who would have thought JSN could do that? All of us?! The issue is that DK Metcalf should return after the bye and get his role back, and if the Seahawks go back to Smith-Njigba in the wasted, short-area, underneath option, he'll go right back to WR4 value.
  • Tua Tagovailoa , MIA (at LAR)
  • Daniel Jones , NYG ("at" CAR)
  • Aaron Rodgers , NYJ (at ARI)
  • Matthew Stafford , LAR (vs MIA)
  • Drake Maye , NE (at CHI)
  • Justin Herbert , LAC (vs TEN)
  • Russell Wilson , PIT (at WSH)
    1. Tyler Allgeier , ATL
    2. Justice Hill , BAL
    3. Braelon Allen , NYJ
    4. Jaylen Warren , PIT
    5. Ray Davis , BUF — We've seen the RB1 potential if James Cook is out, and Davis is a ceiling-chasing gamble in the right matchup while Cook is healthy.
    6. Roschon Johnson , CHI
    7. Trey Benson , ARI — Saw 24% of the touches, so not startable yet, but Benson is on the radar if the Cardinals start to timeshare him (with James Conner ) more.
    8. Tyjae Spears , TEN
    9. Emanuel Wilson , GB — Josh Jacobs should be fine after the bye, but on the off chance he's not, or he aggravates his injury, Wilson would step in as an RB2.
    10. Zach Charbonnet , SEA
    11. Isaac Guerendo , SF — Christian McCaffrey might not return in Week 10, though it sounds likely, and if Jordan Mason isn't 100% yet, Guerendo would be an RB3 in a timeshare. And he has Top 15 potential if CMC and Mason are out.

    MEH, I'LL PASS

  • Zamir White , LV — Ameer Abdullah getting touches too. Please, don't chase this backfield... or waterfalls.
  • Emari Demercado , ARI — Big play, but without a James Conner injury, you can't use Demercado.
  • (if an injury ahead of them)

  • Tyler Allgeier, ATL
  • Braelon Allen, NYJ
  • Ray Davis, BUF
  • Zach Charbonnet, SEA
  • Jaylen Warren, PIT
  • Isaac Guerendo, SF
  • Blake Corum , LAR
  • Ty Chandler, MIN
  • Austin Ekeler , WSH
  • Justice Hill, BAL
  • Tyjae Spears, TEN
  • Trey Benson, ARI
  • Kimani Vidal , LAC
  • Kenneth Gainwell , PHI
  • Emanuel Wilson, GB
  • Roschon Johnson, CHI
  • Jerome Ford , CLE
  • Tyler Goodson , IND
  • Kendre Miller , NO
  • Dameon Pierce , HOU
  • Antonio Gibson , NE
  • Jaylen Wright , MIA
  • Audric Estime , DEN
    1. Jauan Jennings , SF — Good chance he returns, and if healthy, Jennings will be at least a WR3, even if Christian McCaffrey is also back.
    2. Cedric Tillman , CLE — Moving closer to the Top 25 with each passing week.
    3. Jalen McMillan , TB — Quiet game, hurt, and then missed Week 9. Still would be the answer for the Chris Godwin role when healthy, and Mike Evans' return would help and have McMillan as a WR3/4.
    4. Quentin Johnston , LAC — Back to making big plays and scoring touchdowns. Johnston has the same WR4 value he had before the injury. And yes, I've seen the "blown coverage" talk, and while it's been a factor, I don't think it's giving credit to Johnston's ability to cause some of it himself.
    5. Xavier Legette , CAR
    6. Ricky Pearsall , SF — Worth grabbing in case Jennings isn't ready.
    7. Jerry Jeudy , CLE
    8. Ray-Ray McCloud , ATL — With Drake London ailing, McCloud will step up as a better value version of Wan'Dale Robinson ... but only if London is out. If London plays, McCloud drops below Jalen Coker here.
    9. Parker Washington , JAX — With Christian Kirk done, Washington stepped up with Gabe Davis also out, but as seen, Washington is another Wan'Dale Robinson type with value only if Davis remains out. If Davis returns, Washington is at the bottom of this group.
    10. Jalen Tolbert , DAL — Takes a hit into more risk without Dak Prescott.
    11. Mason Tipton , NO — Last wideout standing? Essentially. This team is a mess now, and volume will help, but being overmatched and in a broken offense is concerning. Big time ceiling-chasing flier and could be droppable in a week or two.
    12. Demarcus Robinson , LAR — Robinson is better with at least one of Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua on the field, and even then, he's a big-game-or-bust WR5.
    13. Joshua Palmer , LAC — Relgated to third with Johnston back. Similar to Demarcus Robinson.
    14. Elijah Moore , CLE — Nine targets, but you saw the floor/risk with Moore battling for opportunities when Jameis Winston has a bad week.
    15. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine , TEN — Now has a touchdown in all four of his games. Obviously, this won't continue, and his yardage totals are 9, 10, 39, and 50, but you could do worse.
    16. Jalen Coker, CAR — Highest ceiling outside of Legette, but he's still behind Jonathan Mingo — a stash for now.
    17. Noah Brown , WSH — DRob/Palmer on the Commanders.
    18. Alec Pierce , IND — And DRob/Palmer on the Colts.
    19. Adam Thielen , CAR; Darius Slayton , NYG; Mike Williams , NYJ — All three could be on a new team by the Tuesday trade deadline. I'll update if/when anything happens, but all three would have WR3/4 value if on the Texans , for example.

    DUMPSVILLE (order I'd drop)

  • Tyler Lockett , SEA — On a bye, and the assumption is DK Metcalf will return in Week 11, and Lockett was mostly unstartable even without Metcalf.
  • Keenan Allen , CHI — The ol' sabatoge drop. Someone will see the name and forget that Allen has zero games with more than 41 yards, and that 41-yard effort was the only game with over 5.6 fantasy points, thanks to two touchdowns.
  • MEH, I'LL PASS

  • Mack Hollins , BUF — May be a super desperate play if Keon Coleman misses time (wrist) and Amari Cooper isn't ready.
  • Andrei Iosivas , CIN — As mentioned, it's touchdown or bust. Iosivas scored, but even then, it was a so-so performance.
  • STREAMING TIGHT ENDS

  • Taysom Hill , NO
  • Hunter Henry , NE
  • Jonnu Smith , MIA
  • Mike Gesicki , CIN (if Tee Higgins is still out)
  • Pat Freiermuth , PIT
  • Theo Johnson , NYG
  • Ja'Tavion Sanders , CAR
  • STREAMING DST

    Week 10

  • CHI vs NE
  • NYG at CAR
  • ATL at NO
  • DET at HOU
  • WSH vs PIT
  • NE at CHI
  • Week 11

  • DET vs JAX
  • CLE at NO
  • MIA vs LV
  • GB at CHI
  • HOU at DAL
  • CHI vs GB
  • ATL at DEN
  • BUY LOW, SELL HIGH

  • C.J. Stroud , QB, HOU — Nico Collins' return would make a huge difference.
  • Josh Jacobs, RB, GB — Go opportunity with the Packers on a bye, and they have SEA, NO, MIN for the fantasy playoffs.
  • Calvin Ridley , WR, TEN — Inconsistent, but the volume (hopefully) and schedule of CIN, IND, JAX to close things out are enticing.
  • Mike Evans , WR, TB — Wait for his return and a nice schedule, especially with DAL and CAR to close things out.
  • Joe Burrow , QB, CIN — Has struggled more than not without Tee Higgins, and if Higgins is out again late in the season, the Bengals have TEN, CLE, DEN the final three weeks.
  • Kareem Hunt , RB, KC — Rumors of Isiah Pacheco returning before the end of the season plus CLE, HOU, PIT for the fantasy playoffs make Hunt a sell.
  • Cedric Tillman, WR, CLE — If you can get mid-high WR2 value off someone paying up for how good he's been, the Browns also finish with KC, CIN, MIA, which isn't a nightmare, but it's concerning enough for Jameis Winston and company.
  • George Kittle , TE, SF — Last year, Kittle was inconsistent with a healthy Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk , and assuming Jennings is healthy, the playoff schedule for tight ends doesn't get worse than MIA and DET in the final two weeks.
