Farmington man accused of threatening students at school

FARMINGTON, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Farmington man was arrested Oct. 14 after he allegedly threatened to shoot students at a school, according to court documents.

Linus Williams, 19, was arrested for terroristic threatening and making a threat to commit an act of mass violence on school grounds.

A preliminary report said an officer with Farmington police responded to the Farmington Cardinal Academy on Oct. 14 after receiving a report that someone threatened to shoot multiple students.

The officer spoke with the school's director who said a student reported the incident to a teacher and other students heard about the threat.

The report said on October 10, Williams was on a group phone call when he "threatened to shoot the juveniles if they continued throwing up gang signs and disrespecting the Gangster Disciples."

The students said none of them were throwing gang signs but Williams told them he was going to "pull up to the school and shoot us."

Police interviewed Williams and he said it was plausible he made the threat because he had been drinking that week.

The Farmington School District said in a social media post on Wednesday evening that Williams was not a student and was immediately arrested by Farmington PD.

"We want to inform our community and families there was an incident in which a community member made a threat against students at one of our secondary campuses," the district said. "We were made aware of the message and reported it to the police, who determined it to be a credible threat."

Williams is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. He is set to appear in court on November 8.
