Fayette City man charged in deadly Interstate 70 crash

A 23-year-old is out on bail after allegedly killing a woman while driving 118 mph on Interstate 70.

According to our partners at the Trib, Jacob M. Posey, of Fayette City, was arrested Friday over the March 16 crash in Rostraver that left 25-year-old Tori L. Demo, of Allenport, dead.

The two-vehicle crash happened between the Route 51 and Arnold City interchanges. According to a witness, both Posey's pickup and Demo's car were in the left lane when Posey rapidly approached from behind. Demo moved into the right lane as Posey tried to pass using the right lane, leading to the crash.

A Pittsburgh's Action News 4 crew at the scene saw a totaled silver sedan being towed. Damage was also seen to the Crawford Lane Bridge.

Witnesses tried to extricate Demo from her car, but it burst into flames before they could.

Data from the truck showed Posey had been driving at 118 mph just before the crash, court documents said.

Posey faces several charges, including vehicular homicide.
