crash involving two vehicles Saturday caused a fire and led to four people being hospitalized. According to WXYZ-Detroit , the crash took place around 6:30 p.m. in the area of 18 Mile Road and Pickett Ridge.

Investigators believe weather was factor in the crash which happened when a 17-year-old driver who was traveling westbound on 18 Mile Road lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a Ram truck that was heading eastbound. The crash caused a fire, but with the help of witnesses and bystanders, the two people in the Mustang (both 17) and the two people in the Ram (both 25) were able to escape.

The two people riding in the Mustang were listed in critical condition, while the people in the Ram were hospitalized, but are expected to recover. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
