FL Braces For Coldest Temps Of Season, Freeze Possible Along I-10
FLORIDA — Frigid winter temperatures are expected to chill much of Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, with overnight lows bottoming out 20 degrees or more cooler than normal, weather forecasters predict.
Cooler air is filtering into the area with the coldest temperatures of the season so far expected Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Freezing temperatures will be possible over the Nature Coast counties both mornings, the Tampa Bay office of the National Weather Service said.
The odds are good that the National Bend area will wake up to low temperatures of 32 degrees or less, the NWS said.
Freeze warnings have been issued for northeast and northern Florida, including the Gainesville and Jacksonville areas.
The first major blast of cold air will continue to settle into the Southeast into Wednesday and will not only be responsible for some of the lowest temperatures so far but also some of the first freezes of the season for areas that have been holding out, AccuWeather meteorologists said.
While the cold air coming in will not be record-breaking, it will make temperatures stay 10 to 20 degrees below the historical average for late November, making it feel more like late December or January in terms of nighttime lows, the agency said.

Temperatures will dip to near freezing along the Interstate 10 corridor from southern Alabama through northern Florida and along the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina, AccuWeather said. The chill will extend all the way down the Florida Peninsula, with temperatures dipping into the 40s for the first time this season around Orlando and even lower wind chills. Temperatures could also drop below the 60-degree mark in the Miami area.
Daytime highs will also be suppressed, staying in the 60s the next two before climbing back into the 80s by Friday.
