ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Former Minnesota State trooper, Shane Roper, was booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on Monday 11 days after a court ordered him to do so.

Roper was booked after the court 'inadvertently' neglected to book and fingerprint Roper on August 29. Roper now had two weeks from September 26 to be booked and processed.

Roper, who was terminated by MSP after an internal investigation found him in violation of his oath, faces nine charges in Olmsted County for his alleged role in the May 18 crash near Apache Mall. Records show Roper was driving a squad car well above the speed limit when he struck a car turning left into Apache Mall. The crash claimed the life of an Owatonna teen. His criminal complaint says he was not in an active pursuit at the time of the crash, and neither his lights nor his sirens were on.

His next scheduled court date is November 21.
