Fort Wayne Entrepreneur To Build Soccer Specific Stadium For Fort Wayne FC
FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The city of Fort Wayne will be getting a soccer-specific stadium set to be completed and opened by early 2026.
Local business owner and entrepreneur Mark Music, who is the principal owner of Fort Wayne FC, announced on Monday that the stadium is expected to be completed for the start of the soccer club's 2026 season. The club is expecting to make what it calls a "major announcement" in that regard soon.
Music, who is also the owner and CEO of Ruoff Mortgage, says plans for the stadium were brought to the Fort Wayne planning commission in April. It will have 7,500 permanent seats, but will have a match-day capacity of north of 9,000.
"While this will be an incredible stadium for soccer fans and event attendees, we want to look beyond the field to the potential of contributing to the growth of sport in northeast Indiana and beyond," Music said. "Soccer will continue to grow, especially with the World Cup phenomenon that will come to the United States in 2026."
Naming rights for the stadium are yet to be worked out. It will also be available for concerts, weddings, and other events.
"This will be an incredible fan-first stadium, making the fan experience a top priority," Music added. "I'm hopeful that the community will see this soccer park as a true asset for northeast Indiana."
Fort Wayne FC currently plays in the Valley Division of the Central Conference in USL League Two. Since their founding in 2019 they have played at the University of St. Francis.
