Free pancake breakfast for veterans at Corning American Legion
CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) – Veterans Day is on Monday, November 11th. Many events honoring veterans in our area will be happening this weekend. One of them is a free pancake and sausage breakfast this Saturday, November 9th, for veterans and their families. It will be held at the Corning American Legion on 8 River Road. The breakfast runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
On Saturday evening, the American Legion says it will also host a "Comedy Show with Dan Limberto," including raffles and food. A live band will take the stage from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.
Monday on Veterans Day, there will be a formal ceremony at Veterans Park in Corning from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be a swearing in of new recruits with the Caledonian Highlanders Pipe and Drum and Services recognition.
From noon to 5 p.m. the Corning American Legion will host an event featuring food, raffles, music and a presentation to several military veterans. A steak drawing from "Butchers Sons" will happen at 4 p.m. It will be followed by a "Queens Drawing" at 6 p.m. There will also be trivia from 7 to 9 p.m.
