Giuliani Appears In NYC Court After Asset Handover Delays Attorneys for Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, reported that his luxury apartment was already cleared out.

NEW YORK CITY — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is appearing for hearing at a Manhattan courthouse after he missed an asset handover deadline and did not surrender his luxury apartment and other property.

The hearing was set for 12 p.m. Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman ordered Giuliani to appear in court after attorneys for Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, two Georgia election workers he defamed and now owes nearly $150 million, reported that the former mayor had already cleared out his apartment on Oct. 30.

"Save for some rugs, a dining room table, some stray pieces of small furniture and inexpensive wall art, and a handful of smaller items like dishes and stereo equipment, the apartment has been emptied of all of its contents," according to a court filing from the plaintiff's attorneys obtained by Fox News .

They argued Giuliani "knowingly disregard" the court order to hand over his assets.

In addition, the former mayor was seen driving his Mercedes-Benz in Palm Beach, Florida, that was ordered to be turned over.

Giuliani must also turn over a collection of several watches, a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey, a 1980 Mercedes once owned by the Hollywood star Lauren Bacall, his television, furniture items and jewelry, Patch previously reported .

Freeman and Moss, a mother and daughter who were Fulton County election workers, sued Giuliani for defamation after he falsely accused them of election fraud following the 2020 presidential election. A jury last year awarded them $148 million in damages.

Giuliani then filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but the case was thrown out in July, with the judge saying it was in the best interest of creditors, according to a WSB-TV report.

In August, Freeman and Moss filed an action to seize Giuliani's assets to begin collecting the damages he owed them, NBC News reported.
