Goodyear is getting a new live music restaurant to inject nightlife into downtown

A brand-new live music venue just opened in Goodyear, and you can also get all of your favorite Nashville food at the restaurant. It will serve as just one of many food and entertainment venues as the city builds its downtown area from scratch.

The Stillery is now open, as Goodyear continues to ramp up its restaurant and entertainment openings at GSQ, the city's own $87.7 million-downtown area. That's what the city spent building the downtown area on about 7 acres donated by a developer .

GSQ is being developed as part of a public-private partnership between the city of Goodyear, Scottsdale-based Globe Corporation and Phoenix-based commercial real estate company RED Development.

Globe also worked with the city to develop its Civic Center, including city hall, library and office space.

Other restaurants open at GSQ include BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, as well as entertainment options like Harkins Estrella Falls.

Copper & Sage, a popular southern-influenced gastropub by Westside Concepts, will also be opening on Oct. 1.

What is The Stillery?

The Stillery opened on Sept. 23 in Goodyear. There aren't many places to see live music in the southwest Valley, but The Stillery offers live music seven days per week.

The Stillery, which opened its first location in Nashville, features full bands every Friday and Saturday night, as well as Sunday afternoon. Many of those are solo artists from Nashville that the company will be flying into Arizona to play every weekend. The music is mainly country music.

During the rest of the week, The Stillery will feature live performances from local musicians. The lineup for the first week of October includes a number of local artists like the Buddy Martell Band and Trey Friddle, as well as Nashville artists like Kaylee Rose.

It's the third location that the chain has opened in Arizona, and the first location in the West Valley. The other two locations are in Chandler and the Happy Valley area of North Phoenix.

Aside from the music, The Stillery is known for its comfort food, such as brick fired pizzas and stacked burgers. It's also known for its signature Mason jar cocktails and for having a wide selection of local beers.
