CLEVELAND (WKBN) — Cleveland Guardians veteran pitcher Carlos Carrasco officially cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Columbus.

The Guardians made the announcement on Friday night.

He is slated to start on Saturday night for the Clippers.

The right-hander was designated for assignment by Cleveland on Tuesday to make room on the 40-man roster for outfielder Myles Straw.

The 37-year returned to Cleveland on a minor league deal last offseason. He has started 21 games for Cleveland, posting a record of 3-10 with a 5.64 ERA.
