MOORESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Mooresville man accused of a $2 million-plus Ponzi-style investment scheme has pled guilty to charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of North Carolina announced on Thursday.

Court records stated that from 2018 through 2021 he operated an investment fraud scheme inducing victims to invest in both real and fictitious businesses that included a car service business, only to have the money not go into investments. The Ponzi-style payments which amounted to over $2.6 million and included PPP COVID relief funds went toward personal expenses, court records stated.
