Votes were still trickling in for several key races in Harris County early Wednesday. By 7 a.m., results were in from 685 of the 700 voting centers across the county.

The race for the Harris County District Attorney's seat was in close margins early Wednesday, with Dem. Sean Teare leading with just 50.81 percent of the vote against Rep. Dan Simons by 7 a.m.

The race to take control of the county attorney's seat was also extremely close Wednesday morning- Dem. Incumbent Christian Menefee was leading with 50.44 percent of the vote against Rep. Jacqueline Lucci Smith by 7 a.m.

With 685 vote centers accounted for on Wednesday morning, 51.35 percent of voters in Harris County were for the Flood Control District's Proposition A.

Other races were easier to call.

Molly Cook, an emergency room nurse and community organizer was elected for the Texas Senate District 15 seat, once held by Houston Mayor John Whitmire.

Sylvester Turner won the full term for District 18. Voters Tuesday decided Erica Lee Carter, the daughter of former Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee won the election to carry out the remaining two-month term left in the seat.

The largest school bond proposal in Texas history was rejected Tuesday in a big statement by Houston voters.

Houston ISD's $4.4 billion bond package, which appeared on ballots as Propositions A and B, failed to gain voter support, according to unofficial election results released by the Harris County Clerk's Office.
