R.Campbell33 min ago

The final full week of September starts with a new season and ends with a free kite festival:

Sunday, Sept. 22

Welcome to autumn: A new season starts today as autumn officially arrives with the Fall Equinox. Astronomically it's the day when the sun crosses the celestial equator heading south. Thus, the fall (and spring) equinoxes provide Earth with roughly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. The first day of fall usually signals cooler weather, too ... we hope.

And since it's now autumn ... Head to Prairie Springs Park, on the western shore of Lake Andrea, for the final day of the Pleasant Prairie Harvest Fest. The free festival features live music, food trucks and the Pleasant Prairie HarborMarket, open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, go to visitpleasantprairie.com .

Monday, Sept. 23

Bake up some happiness: We hope the weather is pleasantly cool today, and we feel like baking. How else to celebrate Pot Pie Day?
