  • FORECAST DISCUSSION:

To say our rain totals have been lack luster is an understatement. Columbus has yet to see a tenth of an inch of rain this month. Some relief is on the way. Starting tonight through Wednesday will be our best chances for showers. We'll see close to 1′′ of rainfall.

Today the above average temperatures will continue as highs warm up to the low 90s. It definitely does not feel like fall, which begins at 8:44 am. Skies will start off mostly clear, but by the afternoon we'll begin to see mostly cloudy skies. A few scattered showers begin popping up late in the evening.

Tonight brings more scattered rain showers for central Ohio. These will be on an off throughout the night. Thankfully there will be additional chanced for rain, but in the meantime what ever falls tonight will be more than welcomed. Lows will be very warm only falling to the upper 60s.

Tomorrow people can expect some wet roads heading to work or school. Additional chances for light rain showers will stick around this Monday. It will also be noticeably cooler with temperatures only reaching the low 80s. This is still a bit above average for this time of year, but the cool down along with the rain very needed.

A few more decent chances for rain are expected this week. Most of what does fall will be between Sunday night through Wednesday. There will be a few other opportunities for pop up showers during the second half of the week. Adding everything up central Ohio can expect around 3/4′′ of rain. This will only put a minor dent into our precipitation deficits, but we still need it regardless.
