Head-on crash kills teen driver, injures 2 others
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — One person is dead and two were flown to local hospitals after a head-on crash in Butler County.
Deputies from the Butler County Sheriff's Office were called to the 6700 block of W. Elkton Road on Thursday around 6:30 a.m. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones reports deputies were sent to the scene in reference to a crash with "serious injuries."
Officials claim to believe the driver of a 2005 Pontiac went left of center and struck the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet.
Jones reports the Pontiac driver, only identified as a 16-year-old male, died at the scene.
CareFlight responded to the scene and transported a juvenile passenger of the Pontiac to Dayton Children's Hospital. The Chevrolet driver was also taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. Both are believed to have sustained "serious life-threatening injuries."
"Our thoughts are with the victims and their families." said Jones.
The crash remains under investigation.
