Here are results for contested Board of Education races in Genesee County

s polls closed in Genesee County, residents awaited the results of key local races, including several closely watched Board of Education elections.

Voters had the opportunity to elect candidates who would play a significant role in shaping the future of education across local school districts.

The following are unofficial results for contested Board of Education races in Genesee County.

Bentley Community School District (4-year term; vote for no more than 4)

Cheryl Blosser, Hayley Downs, Steven Bentley and Kevin Burge were the top four vote-getters in the Bentley Community Schools board member election. Blosser finished first with 21.32% of the vote, followed by Downs with 18.01%, Bentley with 16.23% and Burge with 15.36%.

Losing candidates Toby Bouldry and Tony Howard earned 14.55% of the vote and 13.71%, respectively. There were 62 write-in votes and 7,616 total votes cast.

Clio Area Schools (4-year term; vote for no more than 4)

Carrie Ammons, Dawn Renkiewicz, Bob Gaffney and Robert D. Love were the top four vote-getters in the Clio Area Schools board member election. Ammons earned 22.98% of the vote, while Renkiewicz followed with 20.71%, Gaffney with 19.43% and Robert D. Love with 18.28%.

Robert J. Love finished in fifth with 18.01% of the vote.

Davison Community Schools (6-year term; vote for no more than 2)

Shannon McKee and Benjamin Vick were the top two vote-getters in the Davison Community Schools Board of Education election on Nov. 5. McKee earned 6,881 votes, followed by Vick with 5,232, Matt Smith with 4,320 and Connie Green with 4,025. Sherry Marden and Robert Malcomnson earned 3,199 and 1,842 votes, respectively.

Winners McKee and Vick earned 26.8% and 20.38% of the vote, respectively. There were 25,672 votes cast in total, according to unofficial results from the Genesee County Clerk.

Davison Community Schools (Partial term ending 12/31/26; vote for no more than 2)

Holly Halabicky and Diane Rhines were the top two vote-getters in the Davison Community Schools Board of Education partial term election. Halabicky placed first with 8,351 votes, followed by Rhines with 6,084. Corey Herriman and Maggie Miller each failed to earn more than 5,000 votes.

Halabicky and Rhines earned 35.23% and 25.67% of the vote, respectively.

Fenton Area Public Schools (6-year term; vote for no more than 2)

In the Fenton Area Schools Board election, Laura Setzke emerged as the top vote-getter with 23.53% of the vote (2,569 votes), followed by Dana Jones, who received 20.16% (2,201 votes). Andrew Younger secured the third-highest total with 18.81% (2,054 votes), and Brian Eltringham received 17.54% (1,915 votes).

Ky Orvis and John W. Jordan received 11.88% (1,297 votes) and 7.72% (843 votes), respectively, while 41 write-in votes accounted for 0.38% of the total.

Altogether, 10,920 votes were cast in this race.

Flint Community Schools (6-year term; vote for no more than 1)

In the Flint Community School Board election, incumbent Linda K. Boose emerged as the winner with nearly 69% of the vote. Boose earned 16,950 votes, while challenger Chad Schlosser earned 7,306 votes.

There were 322 write-in votes and 24,578 total votes, according to unofficial results.

Goodrich Area Schools (6-year term; vote for no more than 2)

In the Goodrich Area Schools Board election, Ashley Herriman secured the most votes with 39.53%, totaling 2,966 votes.

Greg Main closely followed with 38.07%, receiving 2,857 votes. Patrick Tesler earned 21.84% of the vote, with 1,639 votes.

The election saw a strong turnout with 7,504 votes cast.

Kearsley Community Schools (6-year term; vote for no more than 2)

Maureen Callahan and Richard Hill both earned six-year terms on the Kearsley Community Schools board after becoming the top two vote-getters in the Nov. 5 election. Callahan and Hill earned 32.85% and 28.1% of the vote, respectively.

Altogether, there were 11,736 votes cast in the Kearsley school board election. Other candidates Charles Wade and Kevin Brown earned 20.02% and 18.06% of the vote, respectively.

Linden Community School District (6-year term) In the Linden Board of Education election, Katie O'Dell emerged as the top candidate with 35.42% of the vote, receiving 3,894 votes.

Tabitha Ramberg followed closely with 32.51% (3,574 votes), while John H. Rynearson garnered 31.22% of the vote, totaling 3,432 votes. A total of 94 write-in votes were cast, making up 0.86% of the votes. The election saw a strong turnout with 10,994 votes cast.

Mt. Morris Consolidated School District (6-year-term; vote for no more than 2)

In the Mt. Morris Consolidated School District board election, Mary Severn emerged as the top vote-getter with approximately 37% of the vote.

Severn placed first with 2,559 votes. She will be joined on the board by Amy Plyler, who placed second with 2,316 votes. Russell Edwards placed third with 1,946 votes.

Swartz Creek Community Schools (4-year term; vote for no more than 4)

Candidates Alyssa Bouchard (6,308), Holly Jarvis (6,144), Carrie Germain (6,021) and Autumn Henry (5,885) were the top four vote-getters in the Nov. 5 election. Jessica Lanave finished fifth with 5,185 votes.

Westwood Heights Schools (6-year term)

In the Westwood Heights School Board election, Tyra Coburn led with 29.17% of the vote, securing 1,223 votes.

Cherese Bransford followed closely with 26.67%, receiving 1,118 votes.

Jessie B. Cloman Sr. earned 22.95% of the vote with 962 votes, while Lester Fykes received 20.23% with 848 votes.

The election had a total of 4,192 votes cast.
