Here's what's opening in the former home of Thai Taste

In May, Thai Taste closed at its home on Evers Road after 29 years in San Antonio. On Friday, October 18, a new Thai food concept, with roots at restaurant incubator Lombrano Food Hall , is expected to open in its place.

T's Thai Express is the new restaurant opening soon at 5520 Evers Road. This would be the first brick-and-mortar for the business, as it has previously based operations out of Lombrano Food Hall , which provides kitchen space for restaurant concepts to cook and sell their food.

Gabriela Mungmool, one half of the couple behind the Thai food concept, posted on the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook group about T's Thai Express expanding to San Antonio's Northwest Side.

"Come by this Friday we should be open!!" Mungmool wrote. Her husband, Worapong "Tee" Mungmool, is the chef cooking up Thai food classics at T's Thai Express, which first launched in 2023.

The restaurant's menu includes a number of noodle and rice dishes, like pad thai and pad see ew, as well as several halal options. With the cold months coming soon, customers will be glad to know that a number of hot soups and curries are also available at T's Thai Express. On the drink side, the concept offers freshly brewed Thai tea, and Thai iced coffee will be served at the new location.
