HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL: Enterprise goes 2-2 at HeffStrong Tournament

The Enterprise volleyball went 2-2 at the HeffStrong Tournament in Hoover on the weekend, reaching the tournament's Gold Bracket.

The Wildcats lost to Vestavia Hills 25-15, 25-17 but rebounded to beat Northridge 25-18, 25-17 and Springville 25-22, 26-28, 15-7 to advance to the Gold Bracket. However, they lost 25-11, 25-20 to Houston (Tennessee), the eventual tournament champions.

For the tournament, Morgan Williams earned 24 kills and seven blocks and Abigail Wiggins and Jadyn Britton both had 19 kills with Wiggins also with 11 digs. Lauren Kinney delivered 41 assists and Sydney Neuwien 33 assists. Virginia Townsend added 16 digs.

Enterprise JV wins Bronze Bracket: The Enterprise junior varsity team went 3-3 but won the Bronze Bracket at the HeffStrong Tournament in Hoover.

The Wildcats lost all three matches in pool play, losing to Pelham 25-23, 25-18, to Buckhorn 28-26, 26-24 and to Helena 25-12, 25-15.

They bounced back to win three Bronze Bracket matches to win the bracket. They beat McAdory 25-18, 23-25, 15-7, White Plains 25-17, 25-21 and Shades Valley 25-7, 25-9.

For the tournament, Maryah Gordon had 10 kills, six aces, six blocks and 15 digs, Delcy Harrison had 11 kills and 14 digs and Elizabeth Napoli had 48 assists and 20 digs. Madison Griswold had 10 kills and BethAnn Wadsworth 24 digs.

Coppinville wins Providence Christian Junior High Tournament

Coppinville Junior High of Enterprise won the Providence Invitational Tournament Saturday at the PCS campus.

Coppinville won the title with a 25-21, 25-4 win in the championship game over Northside Methodist Academy after taking a 25-15, 25-12 win over Headland in the semifinal.

Northside Methodist reached the finals with 25-22, 25-21 semifinal win over Dauphin of Enterprise.

Coppinville went undefeated overall, also winning all three pool matches. They Ashford 25-10, 25-15, Northside Methodist 27-25, 25-3 and Providence Christian 25-8, 25-4.

NMA reaches finals: Northside Methodist went 3-2 overall in finishing runner-up at the Providence Invitational.

The Knights beat Providence Christian 25-10, 25-22, lost to Coppinville 27-25, 25-3 and beat Ashford 25-8, 25-14 during pool action.

They Dauphin of Enterprise 25-22, 25-21 in the semifinals before losing to Coppinville 25-21, 25-4.

Providence Christian goes 1-2: Providence Christian's junior high team went 1-2 at its own Providence Invitational Saturday.

The Eagles lost to Northside Methodist 25-10, 25-22, beat Ashford 24-26, 25-19, 15-8 in the tournament's only three-set match before losing Coppinville 25-8, 25-14.

During the tournament for PCS, Camille Jackson had 15 assists and 10 digs, Ellison Joye had 11 kills and three aces and Audrey McCoullough had seven digs and three kills. Mattie Clements added six digs and three kills.
