Honduran national indicted on child sexual exploitation charges

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A federal grand jury in Springfield has indicted a Honduran national for the sexual exploitation of a child on Wednesday, August 28.

A federal criminal complaint was initially filed against 22-year-old Celso Noe Chacon-Arriaga on August 8, 2024, which was replaced by the two-count indictment on Wednesday.

West Plains man accused of stalking 17-year-old girl

From Nov. 21 to Dec. 30, 2020, Chacon-Arriaga allegedly produced child pornography with a minor victim along with receiving and distributing child pornography while he was living in Springfield.

An affidavit filed with the original complaint states that Chacon-Arriaga sent and received sexually explicit messages with an 11-year-old victim on Facebook Messenger and received sexually explicit images and photos from the child victim.

Homeland Security Investigations, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Springfield Police Department investigated the case.
