HS volleyball update: McGill-Toolen takes Margaret Blalock tourney at Homewood

McGill-Toolen – the top-ranked Class 7A volleyball team in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll all season – won the 36th annual Margaret Blalock Tournament at Homewood, snapping 6A No. 1 Montgomery Academy's 32-match win streak in the final.

The Dirty Dozen is the only in-state team to beat Montgomery Academy this season. The Eagles' win streak started after a loss on Aug. 24 to McGill-Toolen in Hoover's Juanita Boddie Invitational.
