The husband of a Texas woman who's been missing since she attended a party in October has reportedly been charged with her murder. On Thursday, Nov. 7, Brad Simpson, 53, was charged with killing his wife, Suzanne Clark Simpson, 51, per outlets including NBC News , KSAT and WJAR . The mother and realtor, who resides in Olmos Park, Texas, has been missing since Monday, Oct. 7. She and her husband were said to have attended a party at The Argyle private members club in San Antonio on Oct. 6. According to KSAT, court records show that Simpson's bond for the murder charge has been set at $2 million. The outlet stated that alongside previous charges including assault causing bodily injury to a family member and unlawful restraint, his total bond is set at $5 million. Per WJAR, Simpson left the Bexar County Jail around 1:15 p.m. local time on Thursday, before returning and being charged two hours later. The arrest affidavit has been sealed for 30 days, the outlet reported, citing the County Magistrate Clerk. The TV station added that despite a body not being found, investigators believe they have "enough evidence to proceed anyway." The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office didn't immediately respond when contacted by PEOPLE. Simpson's brother, Barton, said in a statement to KSAT on Thursday: "It is heartbreaking, but it brings our family some peace to know that authorities have gathered sufficient evidence to feel confident in moving forward with charges." "This also helps us to come to terms with the reality that Suzanne is no longer with us, allowing us to begin a difficult grieving process and focus on rebuilding our lives, especially for the sake of the children and our extended family. We remain appreciative to all law enforcement involved for their professionalism in dealing with this situation," Barton added, per the outlet.Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. The charges come nearly a month after Olmos Park police chief Fidel Villegas said in a Oct. 9 press conference streamed by KENS that Simpson had been arrested after he failed to show up to a meeting with police. PEOPLE previously reported that he'd been arrested and charged with assault and family violence. Villegas claimed at the time that after learning about Suzanne's disappearance, police were informed of an altercation at the family's home that had possibly turned physical before she had been reported missing. According to Villegas, Simpson and Suzanne had been married for around 22 years. NBC News reported her as a mother of four. PEOPLE also reached out to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office and the Olmos Police Department for additional information, but didn't immediately hear back. It is not immediately clear if Simson has entered a plea.
