I-10 East Freeway bridge repairs coming Nov. 15-18. Major delays expected.

Motorists planning to travel Interstate 10 east next weekend east of downtown Houston should expect major delays as eastbound main lanes will be closed for bridge repairs.

According to information from the Texas Department of Transportation , to facilitate necessary bridge repairs, crews will completely close the I-10 East Freeway eastbound main lanes from I-69 Eastex Freeway to Lockwood Drive beginning at 9 p.m. Nov. 15 through 5 a.m. Nov. 18.

Motorists should expect delays during this weekend and may want to consider an alternate route, according to the TxDOT release .

There will be several lane closures taking place .

Lanes impacted include the I-10 East Freeway eastbound main lanes from I-69 Eastex Freeway to Lockwood Drive, the I-10 East Freeway eastbound Waco Street entrance ramp and Lockwood Drive north and southbound at I-10 East Freeway frontage road.

Instead drivers will continue on I-10 East Freeway and exit Lockwood Drive to access I-10 East, continue on the I-10 eastbound frontage road and use the entrance ramp past Lockwood Drive to access I-10 or follow the posted detour signs to access I-10/Lockwood Drive.
