I-90 exit 36 ramps to I-81 North to close for planned work

SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Department of Transportation wants to alert drivers beginning on Monday, November 18 that the New York State Thruway(I-90) exit 36 ramps to Interstate 81 North will be closed to traffic beginning at 6 a.m.

The NYSDOT says the closure will be happening from Monday at 6 a.m. to Friday, November 22 at 4 p.m., and that the ramp closures are to install noise barriers along I-81 North.

Construction is part of the I-81 Viaduct Project.

During the closure, drivers are advised to follow posted detours. Construction is weather-dependent and could change based on conditions.

Six people died in a road accident near the western German town of Ochtrup in the early hours of Sunday, police in the town near the Dutch border reported.
