I-95 north closed due multi-vehicle crash near Girard Point Bridge, police investigating

The northbound lanes on Interstate 95 are closed near the Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia due to a crash.

According to 511pa.com, a multi-vehicle crash closed the roadway between Exit 13 (I-76/PA-291 West Valley Forge) and Exit 17 (PA 611 North Broad/Pattison Avenue).

The area is located between the Philadelphia International Airport and South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

Police are on the scene and appear to be investigating the incident.

Traffic on I-95 is backed up for miles as of noon Tuesday. Police are working to turn some of the cars around to get them off the highway.
