Inner Harbor Ice Rink opens Saturday, November 9
Temperatures may be in the 50s and 60s and people are still wearing short sleeves, but it's time for ice skating in Baltimore.
Workers have been putting the finishing touches on the temporary Inner Harbor Ice Rink that will open Saturday, Nov. 9, between the two Harborplace pavilions at Pratt and Light streets.
A project of the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, the rink opens Saturday with a Winter on the Waterfront celebration from noon to 3 p.m., with music from DJ Ashmo, treats from Crust by Mack and hot drinks from Matriarch Coffee. The first 50 skaters will get on the ice for free.
Major funding for the ice rink is provided by The Pearlstone Family Fund and The Joseph & Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds, with additional funds from T. Rowe Price; Block by Block; PNC Bank and Constellation.
After Nov. 9, non-holiday hours will be: from noon to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. on Fridays; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Holiday hours are noon to 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve; 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Christmas Day; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve and noon to 10 p.m. on New Year's Day.
The price is $12 for seniors, military personnel with an ID and groups of 12 or more, and $15 for others (three years and up). A wristband is good for all-day skating. Weekday and Season passes are available. The rink will be open through January 20. More information is available at www.waterfrontpartnership.org.
