Pittsburgh Steelers lose two key players for clash with Commanders
V.Lee59 min ago
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Steelers ruled out outside linebacker Nick Herbig and safety Terrell Edmunds for their game against the Washington Commanders . Herbig was limited for the first two days of the week but did not practice on Friday and was promptly ruled out. It is unclear if Herbig suffered a setback. With Herbig out, newly acquired outside linebacker Preston Smith is likely to see significant playing time alongside Jeremiah Moon. Edmunds, who had been the team's dimebacker for much of the season, will sit with an illness, opening the door for the returning Cam Sutton to get a look there. Wide receiver Ben Skowronek (shoulder) and linebacker Tyler Matakevich (hamstring) are questionable, but logged multiple full practices throughout the week and could return from their injuries. If they did, the Steelers would have to clear two roster spots to do that. Quarterback Justin Fields, tight end MyCole Pruitt, center Zach Frazier, and running back Cordarrelle Patterson are all off the injury report and will return against the Commanders.
