Jackson County crash kills 2 Sunday morning

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan State Police Jackson Post responded to a single-car crash that killed two people Sunday morning.

Investigators said a 2012 Honda CR-V driver was speeding north on Pulaski Rd. near Swains Lake Rd. around 10:39 a.m., crossed the double yellow line into the other lane, and attempted to pass a car.

Witnesses said the driver attempted to pass the car on the right shoulder of the road and lost control, hit a tree and caught on fire.

Police have not released the crash victims' ages and names and tell 6 News they are unsure if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
