Jason Bateman And David Harbour To Star In The HBO Dark Comedy ‘DTF St. Louis’

Jason Bateman and David Harbour will star in and executive produce a seven-episode series on HBO titled DTF St. Louis, the tale of a love triangle between three adults experiencing middle-age uneasiness that leads to one of them ending up dead.

Described as a darkly comedic limited series, DTF St. Louis comes from showrunner, writer, director and executive producer Steven Conrad (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Patriot).

"We are tremendously excited to work with the brilliant auteur Steve Conrad, whose singularity of vision lies central to all his work as a storyteller," said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming in a statement. "With David Harbour and Jason Bateman at series center, two masterful titans in their own right, we couldn't be more emboldened by the journey ahead and look forward to sharing this special, emotionally provocative piece with the world come time."

DTF St. Louis was originally inspired by the James Lasdun New Yorker My Dentist's Murder Trial: Adultery, False Identities, and a Lethal Sedation. The original planned series was called My Dentist's Murder Trial, a true-crime drama about Kingston, New York, dentist Dr. Gilberto Nunez (Pedro Pascal), who went to trial for allegedly killing his friend Tom Kolman (David Harbour).

The excecutive producers of DTF St. Louis also include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch for Escape Artists; Molly Allen; Bruce Terris; Michael Costigan for Bateman's Aggregate Films; Kristina Wenson for Bravo Axolotl; James Lasdun; and MGM Television.

David Harbour is coming off his five season run as Jim Hopper on Netflix's Stranger Things, will will conclude with the final eight episodes on an undisclosed date in 2025. Jason Bateman ended his four season run as Marty Byrde on the Netflix drama Ozark in 2022. He will be seen next in Netflix's feature film Carry-On, which drops on December 13.
