Edward Grimes refused to let a fractured ankle cramp his style as he was pictured out and about in London on Tuesday.

The X Factor legend, 32, revealed last week that he had injured himself during his performance at the Dublin City University fresher's ball , and since then he has been forced to wear a surgical boot and use a mobility scooter while it heals.

Yet despite having just one working foot, Edward refused to let the injury get him down as he cut a stylish figure in a black biker jacket and headed on out for the day.

He teamed a leopard print shirt with the jacket, which he casually left semi-unbuttoned, and sported a pair of blue denim jeans.

To complete his look, he sported a black leather baseball cap and carried his essentials in a mini black rucksack on the front of his scooter.

The Irish singer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, last week to reveal the upsetting news.

Sharing a picture of his wrapped-up foot on Thursday, he penned: 'It's not good guys I've to get an X-ray tomorrow on my ankle really hurt it on stage in Dublin but didn't want to disappoint everyone I fought on for all of you '.

The following day, Edward revealed he had heard back from the hospital and was 'devastated' by the results.

Alongside pictures with his foot in a medical boot and using crutches, he shared: 'It's fractured, I'm devastated that after all the years of performing my ankle gave in last night!'

Edward continued: 'Crazy 24hrs! Going to take it easy and heal! Thanks for all your kind messages!'

Fans were quick to pass on their well wishes as they sent words of encouragement and wished the star a speedy recovery.

The singer soared to fame with his twin brother John as part of the double act Jedward on the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009.

After finishing in sixth place, they went on to release four studio albums, of which the first two went double platinum in Ireland.

The divisive double act went on to represent Ireland at Eurovision for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012.

Earlier this year, Jedward were caught in a vicious war of words with their former mentor Louis Walsh after he branded the twins 'vile' on Celebrity Big Brother .

In response, Jedward called the music manager, 71, an 'evil manipulator'.

While they may no longer have the support of Louis, the twins have been rubbing shoulders with plenty of A-list stars lately.

In July, the reality stars bumped into Katy Perry and couldn't resist filming a fun video with the star.

The pop duo broke out into Katy's hit single I Kissed A Girl as she turned around and wiggled her bottom to the camera.

In a second clip, the trio were in good spirits as they danced and sang to the star's new track Lifetimes off her forthcoming album 143.

Katy later took to the stage at London nightclub The Box and danced with Jedward while sipping on a cocktail.

Jedward wrote on social media: 'Love our girl 143 new album sounds absolutely Jepic can't wait for everyone to hear it.'

Also sharing a clip, Katy added: 'These 143 playbacks have really evolved into straight up parties. love you London can't wait for u lot to hear the rest of 143!'

In recent months, reality star duo Jedward have been connected to several A-list stars including Rebel Wilson and Ed Sheeran .

The pair were seen beaming for photos backstage ahead of Pitch Perfect actress Rebel's London Palladium show earlier this year.

John and Edward have also previously celebrated '10 years of friendship' with Bad Habits singer Ed as they shared a gallery of pictures with the star.

They wrote: 'Over 10 years of Friendship JedSheeran Forever. Great to see you rocking Dublin and us partying with the Jepic vibes'.
