Jeopardy! superfans given chance to land dream role

Sony Pictures Entertainment is on the hunt for the perfect Jeopardy! superfan to hire as a researcher to work full-time at their office in Culver City, CA.

The plum position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as communications, media studies, etc. or equivalent experience in teaching, journalism, or research for TV shows.

If qualified, applicants can expect a base salary between $70,654 to $91,850 for the dream job and they 'may qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits.'

'Are you a treasure trove of esoteric knowledge and thrive on diving deep into a variety of topics? Do you proudly embrace your inner nerd?' the LinkedIn description read.

'Collaborating directly with the show's co-head writers, in this key role you'll use your keen research skills to ensure that all on-air content is accurate, inclusive, and engaging for our viewers.'

Applicants not only get to work on the regular syndicated series, they'll also have an opportunity to research for Celebrity Jeopardy! and Pop Culture Jeopardy!

The light-hearted spin-off - premiering December 4 on Prime Video - will be hosted by SNL's Colin Jost and in a new promo he reacts to the category: 'Big Charles Dickens Energy.'

The most famous host - eight-time Daytime Emmy winner Alex Trebek - hosted Jeopardy! from 1984 until his 2020 death from stage IV pancreatic cancer at age 80.
