Jersey City public safety dispatcher charged in Bayonne hit-and-run

A 911 dispatcher in Jersey City's Department of Public Safety has been charged with running down her boyfriend on a dangerous roadway in Bayonne Sunday.

Kalimah Toon, 37, was charged Thursday with aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury aggravated assault, possession of a weapon (motor vehicle) for an unlawful purpose, knowingly leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury and other related offenses in connection with the early morning hit-and-run at Route 440 and East 22nd Street.

Toon was arrested by members of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit at the prosecutor's office in Secaucus and transported to the Hudson County jail, pending her first court appearance.
