The Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify the death, so please include either the phone number of the funeral home or cremation service that is in charge of the deceased's care or a photo of his/her death certificate. All payments by families must be made with a credit card. We will send a proof of the completed obituary before we require payment. The obituary cannot run, however, until we receive payment in full.

Obituaries can be submitted for any future date, but they must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. the day prior to its running for it to be published.

Jeryl D. Seaman, "Jerry", 76, of Hamburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Irvin R. "Flop" and Ruth E. (Madenfort) Seaman. Jerry was a 1966 graduate of Hamburg Area High School and attended Pennsylvania State University. He last worked as a superintendent of home construction in Maryland. Jerry was a member of the Hamburg Fish and Game Association and the Keystone Social Club. He enjoyed motorcycle racing, sailing, snow skiing, playing ping pong, building model boats, woodworking, and watching Eagles football. Jerry had a good hand at art. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his daughter: Casey M. (Seaman) Moser, wife of Steve W. Moser, Hamburg; two grandchildren: Samantha (Moser) Carlstrom, wife of Erik Carlstrom; and Zachary Moser; and one brother: Richard A. "Sam" Seaman, husband of Marcia Seaman, Hamburg. He was predeceased by a sister: Cathy A. (Seaman) Williamson, wife of Pat Williamson of Athens, Alabama.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hamburg Public Library, 35 N. 3rd Street, Hamburg, PA 19526.
